Colour Q 138

Evening

As we had plasterers in today finishing off the ceiling and patching up holes made by us removing old, ugly shelves, thermostats etc, there was nothing much to do but to head down to the studio since I have heating down there (having the heater on made it too hot for the plasterers).  It meant that I got a head start on this week's Colour Q challenge - these are the colours for this week's challenge

Aren't these heels so cute?  Anyway, my card was inspired by this wrapping paper I saw whilst doing some Christmas shopping last year

and this tutorial on how to make it.  I love this pattern, as you can see I've even used it for the background image of my blog.  Here's the finished card

Now, if there is anyone reading my blog that makes dies, I would really love it if you could manufacture one to make this pattern.  Whilst it is relatively easy to make, it is also really easy to mess it up.  Every now and again, the punched pieces misaligned ever so slightly and they didn't quite line up/join together as well as I would have liked.

The sentiment is from Best Dad Ever and has been embossed using White EP.  I made the flag ends because I don't yet have a die for that :)

Thanks for visiting, hope you're enjoying your weekend

Supplies Used:  All Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted
Stamps:  Best Dad Ever
Ink:  Distress Embossing Ink (Ranger)
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, More Mustard, Poppy Parade
Accessories:  Heat Tool, White EP, 1-3/4" RD punch

Kudos to you for doing this without a die..haha. I don't know if I would attempt this one. I agree that someone should make one though. Great card and wonderful use of this weeks colors. Thanks for joining us at the ColourQ this week.

This is a beautiful card Jo. I love this pattern too, so big thanks for the tutorial link!

I laughed because I often wish for dies of various patterns/shapes that I repeat regularly (we should go into business)...plus, I don't own a banner die either and make my own using the corner of a square punch.

LOL re: your iPod comment on my blog...I love my iPod...my portable disco machine. I dance about the kitchen while I cook (the neighbours must think I'm a lunatic), but the kids love it.

Have a lovely relaxing Sunday...sans plaster I hope!

Totally cool Jo. Love what you've done here. Loving seeing all your extra cards lately too. So glad you've had the extra time to play.

So wish you were coming to Convention as well :( I think we could run amok together nicely *wink*.

Jo, this is a fabulous take on the ColourQ challenge. So much patience for a start. I have seen these punched circles too and must admit, feel a little intimidated, but they do look so cool!

I can't believe you took the time to do all that punching! You are super woman, I would have given up about 10 punches in!!!! Thanks for playing along with us at ColourQ this week.

What a fantastic card Jo! Love how you have combined the inspiration pic/wrapping paper design with the colour challenge, it looks great! You have way more patience than I do ;)
