Another quick post so I can link up - will be back later to add in all the details.
This is the card I made for this week's 2 Sketches 4 You sketch challenge. It is also a bit of a CASE of a sample in the 07 US Fall/Winter IB&C. I love the colours and this card is for one of Harry's little friends who is having her 2nd birthday party in less than 1hr (which is why I have to dash)
Sorry about the photo, it's a little blurry - batteries in my camera are almost flat so it was a choice of a bit blurry or crooked!

Stuck for a Title!
I've sat here for about 5 minutes now trying to think of a witty title for this post - just not happening. Anyway, this week's card for the sketch challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You. I really enjoy the challenges that Kazan and Laura set - I don't know what it is about them, but for some reason they take my work to the next level (well, in my opinion anyway, LOL).
This week's sketch was by Laura and after looking through my stuff, I decided to make it a Father's Day card for Jarrod. Since it's only 3 weeks away and the next 2 weekends I'm playing chauffer to Harry for the birthday party season, it's one thing crossed of my never ending list of things to do!
The finished card is 14 cm x 14 cm Very Vanilla. The papers are from the Basic Grey Archaic 6x6 Paper Pad. The sentiment has been stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic ink on SU twill using Rough Edges Mini Alpha. The stars were punched using SU Star punches and the brads are Antique Brass. The stars have been adhered to the card using dimensionals.
While this is a really simple card it took a while to make. The first time I stamped on the twill I had got all the way to the 'e' when I accidently stamped it SIDEWAYS - OMG, absolutely NO way to fix that, except to start again. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Rough Edges Alphabet
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Basic Grey Archaic 6x6" Paper Pad
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Star Punch, Large Star Punch, Twill Tape, Antique Brass Brads, Dimensionals, SAMJ
Hope you're all having a great weekend - thanks for looking!

Another Week Goes By....
This week I've combined the Kristina's colour challenge and the sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You for this card.
This is Kristina's colour inspiration - Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red and I've chosen Summer Sun. Pretty bright colours, aren't they?
This is what I came up with.
I started with the idea to sponge the colours on the embossed (with black EP) heart from Always (from the Spring Mini). The heart came out well, then next thing was to decide what to do with it! That's where Kazan's 2S4U sketch came into it - I thought the heart would work well as the accent. Actually, the layout is SO versatile, I'm going to be using it again!
The card came together as a few different elements, the black scalloped embossed edge was next, followed by the embossed Pumpkin Panel. Well, that actually took 2 goes, originally I thought it would look good black (I used Staz On) but it just wasn't dark enough so I tried clear embossed. The sentiment panel took a few goes too!
I have a few other workshop samples to share too, but I've got to iron my clothes for work tomorrow, so it will have to wait until tomorrow.
Thanks for looking, hope you've all had a great weekend.
Supplies:
Stamps: Always, Baroque Motifs
Ink: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, VersaMark
Cardstock: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White, Summer Sun, Rose Red Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Black Detail Embossing Powder, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Sponges, Corner Rounder (guard removed), Dimensionals

2 Challenges - 1 Card
Hey, I'm back - last week I was just too tired to even think about making ANYTHING. This week I'm cheating a little because I've covered 2 challenges with the one card- Kristina's Colour Inspiration Challenge and 2Sketches4You sketch challenge. (Well, I've missed the cut off for Kristina's but I'm still in time for 2S4U)
Here's Kristina's inspiration piece - the colours are Rose Red, Regal Rose, Sage Shadow & Whisper White. You can see Kazan's sketch here.
This is what I came up with
As soon as I saw Kazan's sketch I knew I wanted to used Always - from the New Spring Mini which starts on August 1, 2008 and when I saw the colours in Kristina's challenge, I had the idea of stamping the bird with Versamark on white then embossing with clear EP and then colouring the details using my markers. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I was really happy with the result. The rest is pretty self explanatory - no complicated techniques here!
Thanks for looking - hope you're all having a great weekend and keeping warm (the nights have been particulary cold here in Melbourne this week)
Catch you next week!
PS: I have received my copies of the BEAUTIFUL new Spring Mini - if you would like a FREE copy, leave a comment or send me an email with your address deets & I'll get one out to you!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Always, Occassional Greetings
Ink: Sage ShadowClassic Ink, VersaMark, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip Markers
Cardstock: Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Regal Rose, Rose Red 6x6 Pallete O' Prints
Accessories: Clear EP, White Gel Pen, Corner Rounder, Rose Red 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

2S4U Sketch Challenge
Firstly, a bit of housekeeping. My montly newsletter is running late, but I guess you've already realised that by now. I started it last week, but the words just weren't flowing. Hopefully, I should have it finished next week.
Secondly, I just wanted to thank you all for the lovely comments that you've been leaving me. It's much appreciated. Special thanks to Curt, who was the first guy to leave a comment!
Thirdly, I've got some Spring Mini Cataglogues on their way to me. If you'd like one, please send either leave me a comment or send me an email with your address details and I'll put one in the mail for you. There are SO many beautitul things.......you'll find it hard to decide what to get first!
OK, so now for today's card. I've used the sketch posted at 2 Sketches 4 You. This is a fantastic blog and I'm having so much fun working with Laura and Kazan's sketches. This week it was Kazan's sketch. I'm not sure if I can post a copy of the sketch here on my blog so here's a link so you can see if for yourself.
I've used some more things from my Spring Mini pre-order. See that BEAUTIFUL Purely Pomegranate Satin ribbon. I have been hanging out for this since it was realeased in the States last year. It also comes in Chocolate Chip - yummy! As soon as I laid my hands on it I knew it was going to be used for this sketch. The Baroque background stamp I have wanted for AGES, it just gorgeous. I have stamped it in VersaMark and embossed with black embossing powder. The sentiment is from Always (you can expect to see more of this set - it's another that's been on my wish list since it was released in the US.) The flowers are from One of a Kind and are punched out using matching Boho Blossoms punch. One of a Kind, Always and Boho Blossom punch are in the Spring Mini and will be available for purchase on August 1, 2008.
Well, that's all for tonight, it's late and I'm tired. Hope you're all having a great weekend. Thanks for looking :)

Colour Inspiration #15
Gotta be quick. I'll be back to edit this post with all the details once I have linked to Kristina's blog. I've lost track of the time but I know I'm cutting it close.
OK, I'm back. Time again for another colour inspiration piece from Kristina. Here is this week's inspiration piece. Aren't the colours just gorgeous.
I had wanted to use my Wanted DSP for this challenge, but when I got home from work, I realised that the Close to Cocoa didn't really go all that well. And since I was going to use the Wanted papers, I had also thought that I could use some Western stamps that I got from Paper Candy many moons ago that I hadn't inked up yet. So, the CTC not matching kinda threw a spanner in the works. After a bit of messing about, this is what I decided to go with, cause I just couldn't get past using the Bronc! The Star brads are from the BEAUTIFUL Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware that will be available in the Spring Mini, which starts on August 1, 2008. (Yes, my pre-order arrived on Thursday, yay - look out for some more sneak peaks!)
Thanks for looking and hope you have a great weekend. Keep warm (or cool it it's hot where you are!)
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Bronc & Ride 'em Cowboy sentiment - Paper Candy (don't think their available anymore)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, Certainly Celery
Cardstock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Star brads from Styled Silver HPS (available 01/08/08), dimensionals

Sketch Challenge Time Again
I had time to complete this week's sketch challenge over at 2 sketches 4 you. This is a fantastic blog and I'm finding it really inspiring.
This week's sketch was so pretty, I thought it would make a great wedding/bridal card. This is what I came up with
The card started out as being 8" x 4" (and fits into a standard DL envelope), however, I found it to be a bit too tall for what I wanted, so I trimmed a little off the top and it's now 6-5/8 x 4. I'm really enjoying making these non standard size cards. The base is Very Vanilla and the patterned paper is from Spring Silhouettes. The frame is from Frames with a Flourish and the sentiment (which reads now & forever) is from Occasional Greetings. I used my Chocolate Chip marker to dot around the scallops to tie in with the frame and some Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon. The blue pearls are from KaiserCraft (Bliss). I really love how this turned out!
Hope you're all having a great weekend, thanks for looking!

Colour Inspiration #14
OK this has to be quick, got dishes to do and the Amazing Race is about to start. Time for another colour inspiration challenge from Kristina. This is the inspiration piece.
I didn't think I'd get around to completing this in time to make the cut off, but I the idea came to me at work this afternoon and it turned out just like I imagined (something that RARELY happens). It's my best friends daughter's 15th birthday next week and these colours are PERFECT for her and now I've got plenty of time to actually get there - the mail takes ages to get from Melbourne to Merimbula.
Here's what I came up with:
The card is 6-5/8" x 3-1/4", the same size as the SU Long Notes in last year's mini catalogue. I've used American Craft Thickers, I think they're called GiftBox and they are self adhesive chipboard. I LOVE these and wished I had bought more of them cause they were originally white - I've just rubbed them over the Rose Red ink pad and voila! (and they're not quite dry yet, LOL)
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Happy, Happy Birthday Wheel, Ink: Basic Grey, Rose Red, Cardstock: Basic Black, Going Grey, Accessories: River Rock Stitched Ribbon, American Craft Thickers, Dimensionals.

Sketch Inspiration
I finally got around to completing a card in time for submission to a great new blog - 2 Sketches 4 You. You can see the sketch here. This is what I came up with.
My starting point was the beautiful Basic Grey Sultry paper (from one of the 6x6 pads I bought recently). I love the BG papers, however I do have a great deal of trouble actually using it! Once I picked the papers, I found that the big prima flowers I picked up for 40% off at a LSS a few weeks ago matched the papers perfectly. I thought a bit about what I was going to use as a sentiment and then had a brainwave - my SU Anchored rubons would look great around the flower (I had been stumped as to what I was going to do with those curved ones!) Then came the buttons. Now, I don't know how it started but I have almost become obsessed with buttons. I have NEVER used them before - never, ever wanted to, but now, everytime l look through my SU catty, I stop on the buttons and think how much I need them. When I placed my last order, I decided to cave and got the clear ones. Then I wondered if the rubons would fit on the button - and they did. The one in the center of the flower says 'Friends Forever' and is attached to the flower using some 3mm white ribbon I found whilst looking for thread! The 3 buttons on the bottom are actually 'faux buttons', punched with the 1/2" and 3/4" RD punches. I made the button holes with the 3mm punch and threaded some thin strips of cardstock through as thread and then gave them a coat of Crystal Effects.
Thanks for looking and hope you're all having a great weekend!
Supplies:
Cardsock: Pink Passion, Whisper White, Basic Grey Sultry (stripes & houndstooth) Stamps: Baroque Motifs Ink: Whisper White Accessories: Anchored Rub Ons, Prima Flower, 1/2" RD Punch, 3/4" RD Punch, Crystal Effects, 3 mm RD Punch, Corner Rounder

Colour Inspiration #12
Well, it's that time again - time for another of Kristina's colour inspiration challenges. Here's the inspiration piece.
This is what I came up with. I've used my new Polka Dots & Petals set that I purchased from Lauren's clean out!. I also got All I Have Seen (which I have wanted for ages) and Straight Up Edges mini alphabet (this retired here last year but I liked the numbers in it). They were a real BARGAIN, so THANK YOU Lauren!
The colours for this week were Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White. I have stamped the lined floral image using Wasabi, Saffron and Sand and have attached a little bling in the centre of each. They were punched out using the 1" punch and each of them are mounted on dimensionals. The whole panel is also mounted on dimensionals. The letters for the 'Hi' are American Craft thickers - Giggles, they're foam and really cute. I used the corner rounder (with the guard removed to create the scalloped edge. It's an EK Success one, but I'm pretty sure that it's the same as the 3/16" SU! one. I'm not sure I really like it, but it is what it is. I was going to make another one but since it's 10.15 pm already (and I still have to make the bed, fold the washing that's finished in the dryer and pick up Harry's toys), so I think that will have to wait till tomorrow!
Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Weekend Catch Up!
Can't believe it's nearly the end of June already. Where has the time gone?????? Here's a couple of cards I've made over the last few weeks. We had some good, natural light coming in the window this morning so I thought I'd take advantage of it with these photos - the only thing is - I think I like the ones I take at night using the daylight globe and dare I say it, the flash, better!
This is a baby card I made a few weeks ago for my ''for sale' box. Colours are So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Night of Navy with a bit of Whisper White thrown in. Layout was based on one in the May 2007 edition of Cards Magazine. Giraffe is from Wild About You, sentiment is from Short & Sweet (both by Stampin' Up!) and the polka dots are from Art Warehouse (Memories Interactive Journalling Backgrounds). Patterned paper is So Saffron Designer Series Prints (no longer available).
The following cards were going to be last week's submissions to Kristina's Colour Inspiration #11. I didn't submit any of them, you'll see why.
This one actually meets the colour requirements (So Saffron, Whisper White, Rose Red, Old Olive and Going Grey), however the final layout was NOT what I was intending, in fact it ended up looking JUST like a card Kristina had created on a previous post. I thought it was a bit tacky to submit a card for a colour challenge that was basically a CASE of something she had created, so I started again!. Stamps used were Polkda Dot background and ABC Alphabet (lower), both by SU! and Art Warehouse (for the lined paper stamped in Going Grey), as above. I also used the Star Punch (small) and Spiral Punch and Old Olive 5/8 Grosgrain ribbon (all by SU!)
This next one I really like but after spending at least 3 hours on it last Saturday night and it STILL not working using all the required colours, I cracked it and went to bed. Since I had well and truely missed the deadline for submission by the time I got to sit back down again, I just decided to leave out the colours that weren't working. I'm also ashamed to say that this card was the first time that I used my Green Thumb set by Papertrey Ink which I got over a year ago. To get the colour variation, I just kept stamping using Rose Red ink without reinking in between. It's hard to see but there is also a little 'bling' in the center of each flower and on either side of the Happy Birthday sentiment that was supposed to be embossed with White EP instead of the Clear I inadvertently picked up and (sprinkled on before noticing, doh). Sentiment is from It's Your Birthday by SU! and the patterned paper is Rose Red from Designer Series Paper pad.
The last one uses one of the many Saffron/White Polka dot bases that I made for the colour challenge. The onesie image is from Savvy Stamps, the sentiment is from Stampa Rosa and the little heart is from Small Sayings (SU! & retired). At first, I thought I'd met the colour requirements but then I realised I hadn't used any Going Grey. Again, way too late for it to matter and at least it was good to dust off some of my pre SU! stamps that haven't seen the light of day for quite while.
.
Thanks for visiting - hope you're having a great weekend

Thanks for visiting - hope you're having a great weekend

Thanks for the Inspiration
Sam. After seeing the beautiful card Sam made for her Crayon Resist technique class, I decided I was going to have a go, after all I've had the glossy cardstock in my stash for a little over a year and a half to try this very technique.
So Friday night, I grabbed Harry's bit of white crayon and got to work. This is what I came up with. The colours I used were from a SCS colour challenge (Soft Sky, Blue Bayou and Certainly Celery)
It started out being based on this sketch challenge by Beate, however I didn't really look all that carefully at the sketch and thought I'd mucked it up, so I flipped it so I could put the sentiment at the bottom (it's stamped in VersaMark and embossed with White embossing powder). The dots at the side of the sentiment and on each scallop are from the Anchored rub on's.
This one IS based on Beate's WCS #50. I originally had 3 brads in the left hand corner to balance it up a bit but didn't like them so I 'fixed' that mistake by piercing around the B/Bayou mat. It still looked unbalanced so I added the sentiment, again from the Anchored rub on's. I'm not too sure about the sentiment, I mean, who says that???. I think it would be better on a scrapbook page, oh well, too late now.
This last one is probably my favourite, I've pierced around the whole of the image panel, which is raised on dimensionals. The Happy Birthday sentiment is also on dimensionals.
Stamps: Spring Solitude, A Little Birthday Cheer Ink: Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Versamark Cardstock: White Glossy, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky and Blue Bayou Textured cardstock Accessories: Paper Piercer, Mat, Piercing Template, Anchored Rub-On's, White Embossing Powder, Corner Rounder (with guard removed to make scalloped border), Certainly Celery 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponges, Tissue (to wipe off excess ink & crayon), Harry's Crayola crayon!

Kristina Werner Colour Inspiratation #10
Another colour inspiration from Kristina - this week the colours are Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, So Saffron and Not Quite Navy. For some reason, this colour combination just screamed 'baby boy' colours to me, so that's what I created. It was a bit of a process, cause I knew what I wanted to use (my new SU star punches) but that was about it. As a result, I have a heap of left over elements on my table so expect some more cards using this colour combo.
The circle elements are raised on dimensionals, the book plate thingy is by Making Memories (jigsaw frames and flourishes) and is covered with So Saffron DSP. I used my Basic Grey Precision File Set to sand the edges and it is attached to the Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain ribbon using Old Olive brads. Card Base is 4-7/8" x 5-3/4".
Thanks for looking!
Stamps: Small Saying (retired) Paper: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Whisper White cardstock, So Saffron Designer Series Paper (retired) Accessories: Star Punch, Large Star Punch, 1/3-8 RD punch, Oval Punch, Old Olive brads, Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Bookplate thingy (Making Memories), Glue Stick, Dimensionals, Precision File Set (Basic Grey) Ink: Bashful Blue Classic Ink.

21 Today!
Not me, LOL, I passed THAT milestone some time ago. It was Jarrod's yougest brother's 21 on Thursday just gone and he had a joint 21st party with one of his good friend's who will be celebrating his 21st on Tuesday. Suffice to say, this may be a bit all over the place since I'm running on around 2 hrs sleep!
These are the cards I made for the boys. This is what I made for Jarrod's brother, Scott. I used the Happy, Happy Birthday wheel with White Craft Ink on Craft cardstock. I then used the Classic Stars wheel with VersaMark on W/White textured card and embossed with black embossing powder. I wanted it to be shiny, without using glitter, after all, we're talking about a 21 year old guy. I then used Polka Dot background stamp with Real Red ink on R/Red cardstock. The ribbon is Real Red striped grosgrain and the 21st is from Image Tree by Susy Ratto (by EK Success) that I've had sitting in my stamp draw for years that has never been used. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to align the numbers. The 21st star is mounted on 'double dimensionals'. Some of the other stars are also dimensionals.
This is what I made for Scott's friend, Ryan. Again, I used the Happy, Happy Birthday wheel, this time in More Mustard on More Mustard cardstock. I then used some East Coast Prep DSP and Real Red 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. I then puched out 1-1/4" circle of T/Turquoise and a 1-3/8" circle of Wild Wasabi and mounted onto dimensionals. The numbers are American Craft Thickers - Giggles which are foam.
This is another that I made. It actually started out as a huge mistake, I have had a lot of trouble with the Happy, Happy Birthday wheel, uneven pressure makes the words distort, a moving wheel guide gives a crooked impression etc, etc. I'm actually thinking that it may be easier to 'unmount' the wheel and use with one of the large acrylic blocks I have for my pre-SU unmounted stamps. I think I'll be abe to get a better impression first time around. I covered the dodgy wheeling with the East Coast Prep DSP and stamped the Polka Dot background on the other end. I then punched out a W/White scallop with the scallop punch and tied the ribbon in a knot. Circles as per Ryan's card and I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to separate the Happy Birthday sentiment from A Little Birthday Cheer so it would fit on the 1-1/4 circle. I think the knot in the ribbon and the scallop circle make it a 'girly' card and I really like how it turned out.

When Good Ideas Go Bad
This is what you get! Yes, the colours are from Kristina Werner's colour challenge. Just a tad late. Last week was a VERY stressful week, with Jarrod's father being rushed to hospital with a suspected heart attack. He's been discharged, but they're still running tests to find out exactly what the problems are. (On Thursday we were told he had sustained permanent damage to his heart, late Friday afternoon he was discharged. What's the go with that? He goes in for more tests tomorrow.)
This one is a little better, except I mucked up the placement of the stars, the blue one is too high. Of course, they're stuck on with Mono Multi so they're stuck for good (I did try to move them!) I need to make some more to fill in the gaps. As a last minute thing, I covered the stars in diamond stickles to make them 'twinkle'. The sentiment also has stickles on it.
This last one, I quite like. This was more of what I had in mind, especially with the weaving effect.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: It's Your Birthday, A Little Birthday Cheer
Cardstock: Whisper White, Brilliant Blue
Ink: Whisper White Craft, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Jersey Shore DSP, Whisper White embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, 2 Way Glue Pen, On Board Accents, Jo Sonia White Paint, Diamond Stickles, Daisies from LSS, SNAIL, Mono Multi, Dimensionals

kwernerdesign Colour Inspiration Challenge #7
OK, gotta be quick with this post as I've got a mountain of dishes sitting in the sink and it's already 10.30 pm.
The colours for this week's challenge are Very Vanilla, Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. Isn't this linen just beautiful.
Anyway, this is my card. The finished product is NOTHING like what I had running through my head but I like it anyway.
Images are all from the Boho Backgrounds set - I {heart} this set so much - it's so pretty and it's only $29.95. Too cute. I did debate adding some piercing either side of the sentiment, but decided to leave well enough alone. Hope you like it & thanks for looking.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Boho Backgrounds
Ink: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, Chocolate Chip Marker
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky
Accessories: Chocolate Chip 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, 'old' Corner Rounder with guard removed (to make scalloped edge), SNAIL, dimensionals

Don't you LOVE new stuff???
Now that we're back to Friday Night Football, I'm back to stamping. I got my order of brand, spanking new Stampin' Up! stuff on Thursday, so it was an ideal time to play. This is what I came up with.
Well, this actually took a 2 nights, I didn't like the first version I did, so I pulled it all apart and started again. I finally used the 'Time Well Spent' a Level 3 Hostess Set that we received prior to Christmas as a Thank You from SU!. Terrible that it took so long to put it to use!
Supplies Used:
And this is what I made with my NEW stuff. I've also realised that I need some MORE new stuff, such as the 12x12 Textured Neutrals Assorted so I can get myself some of the Basic Gray cardstock. I would have liked to add a mat of Basic Gray around the stamped image and between the punched circle and scallop layer.
This card is on it's way to a fellow demonstrator, Tracy who is/was holed up in hospital. Hope you're feeling better soon Tracy.

Change of Plans
I have to change the date of my planned Catalogue Launch Party. Originally, I had it scheduled for April 12, however, orders from SU! (well, my orders in particular) are still in picking! Bit of a bummer (I'm getting impatient). I've decided to reschedule to April 26, 2008. I haven't sent the invitations out yet (I was waiting to see if my orders shipped over the weekend), but I will be sending them out tonight.
Sorry about the change but it's not much good having a Catalogue Launch Party with out any new goodies to show you, is there :)

I'm currently in the middle of making the new one functional, once it is up & running, I will post the new details here and a link to forward you all on.
Well, that all for me know, my luch break is well and truly over!

I've Been Tagged
Well, I've been tagged! I was tagged by Gail who thought I would kill her because my blog hadn't been updated for ages! Little did she know that I have finally got back to blogging over the few days.
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
It's easy to do - just cut and paste from the blog you've been tagged from. So...
10 years ago: (1998) WOW, that's so long ago! Hmmm, let's see. I was probably getting my pony ready for a show. This time 10 years ago it would have been the weekend for Berwick Aggi and I'm pretty sure that's what I would have been doing. (I really can't remember)
5 Things on my to-do-list today:
Go to bank & bank my last pay cheque from my old job! (completed!)
Go & get meat from Butchers (Jarrod's dad is a butcher so I go to the shop where he works - didn't actually get that done - oops)
Go & pick up text books for the Diploma I have started (completed, but it took way longer than it should of which is why I didn't get anything else done!)
Get hay for my pony (nope, missed out on that one too!)
Make card & get gift for one of the mums from my 1st Mum's group who just had her 2nd (oh so cute & little - I can't remember Harry being that little)
What I would do if I was suddenly a billionaire: Buy house on beach front with acerage so pony would be in backyard. Get a new pony (for me!) as I really miss showing (not sure where the time for that would come from though!). Buy one of everything from the Papertrey Ink range. Buy at least 1 pair of Manolo Blahnik heels and 1 Collette Dinnigan dress and something pretty & shiny from Tiffany's. Invest some wisely so when I spend the rest I still have something in reserve! (Not too materialistic I hope).
Three of my bad habits: A little bit of a control freak (I like & want butter in my mashed potatoes thanks!), procrastination and I drink way too much Coke (I just can't stop!).
Three places I have lived:
Noble Park, VIC
Scoresby, VIC
Ferntree Gully, VIC
5 Jobs I have had:
Check out chick at Kmart Brandon Park (so I could buy my 1st horse)
Office Junior
Secretary
Accounts/Payroll
Office Manager
5 things people dont know about me:
1. I'm an only child.
2. I did calisthenics for 15+ years. I used to be really flexible!
3. I would love to be able to sing and play piano. I often though about taking lessons, however I think the singing is a bit of a lost cause.
4. I'm studying to acheive my Diploma of Accounting. I'm doing it online. I want a bit of paper that I can wave in front of someone when needed.
5. My best score for my HSC (for you young 'uns that's VCE to you) was in Biology that I only picked up for that year! First exam was fun - it was multiple choice and I really didn't read the instructions all that carefully - it's multiple choice you know, how hard can it be????? Yes well, I failed because I picked the right answer and not the incorrect one as you need (needed???) to do for Biology! OOPS :)
I tag: Anna, Naomi and Melissa
Thanks for tagging me Gail, & thanks for reading.

I'm Back!
Well, here I am again – back in the land of the blogging. Where have I been I hear you ask????? Buried under the huge rocks of work, family, sickness, etc, etc.
Here’s a the short version of what’s been happening since my last post, which was all the way back at the beginning of October . Actually, the day after I made my last post, I got sick and didn’t fully kick that nasty bug until the end of November. It took 3 different medications, litres of cough medicine, countless throat lozenges, an endless amount of tissues to kick that nasty little sucker but it’s finally gone. Most mortifying moment - getting sick on the train, jumping off at Mitcham station to RUN to the toilets only to find them occupied and throwing up out of the front of the station, in front of EVERYONE arriving. So not fun!
I also got a new job after that long search. It was in North Melbourne. Hours of work: 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Daily routine: 5.30 am – get up & get both myself & Harry ready to leave house at 6.30 am. Drop Harry at Childcare and catch 7.02 am train to City. Work from 8.30 – 5.30. Catch 5.49 pm train to Spencer St, arrive home between 7.15 and 7.30 pm, just in time to give Harry his bath and spend a bit of time with him before he goes to bed. Have dinner, do dishes and go to bed ready to do it all again the next day.
Notice I say it WAS in North Melbourne. That’s because I resigned! It just got too much. I didn’t realise how much it would affect everything around me. Things that I used to do during the week, like grocery shopping, washing, ironing and other home tasks all got pushed to the weekend because there just wasn’t enough time during the week to fit it in & I was just too tired. I ended up not having any sort of free time at all and it took its toll on myself & my family. Things all came to a head the week before Christmas, where upon I handed in my resignation effective end of December. I was told to take some time to think about over Christmas period. I did that and we compromised and I agreed to work until the end of January or until a replacement was found, thinking said replacement would be found before then! Not so, I’ve been working 3 days per week since February (T, W, T) which has allowed me to catch up on some of the tasks around the house that have been requiring attention since I don’t know when.
I’ve taken a new position, which I start next Monday, March 3, 2008. It’s only 10 minutes from home, hours are 9 – 5. NO MORE 5.30 AM STARTS!
I realise I have neglected many, many things over the past few months. As you can see, I’ve not updated by blog, I haven’t done any stamping since my last workshop (which was in October). I’ve neglected keep you all up to date with the promotions and whatnot that have been happening at Stampin’ Up! I’m sure all of you know that Sale-A-Bration (SAB) finishes this Friday (February 29, 2008), that the Summer Mini finishes March 31, 2008, that the Retired Stamps & Accessories list has been released early (ooops) and that the brand spanking new 2008 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue begins April 1, 2008. I will be posting the Retired Listings here later today and will endeavour to keep you updated on stock levels.
I will also be pre-ordering 2008 catalogues. If you would like to secure your copy, please drop me a line at jo@maximpact.com.au. I sell my pre-order catalogues for the special price of $9.95 + shipping (usually $13.95 + shipping). If you like, you can pick catalogue up from me to save on shipping! However, if you’d like to earn yours free – I’m taking bookings again for workshops. I’m really excited to see what SU! have in store for the 2008 catalogue, my fingers are crossed for the Scalloped Punch, the Star Punch, the new Ribbons just to name a few things! (Stamps set names have completely gone from my head at the moment)
And most importantly, I must apologise to my wonderful downline, who I have neglected terribly. To Anna and my new recruit Christine, who signed up in October, I promise that I will be more diligent in keeping contact with you. Anna, I hope you haven’t felt too abandoned during this time. I know that you have also had a lot going on with the kids being on holidays and Michael starting school this year - I’ve been reading your blog updates during my lunchbreak! This year should be an exciting time for our little team, which is slowly growing – a big hello to my newest recruit Kristine, who signed up on Friday – I know that you will love being a part of the SU! family. This means that at the end of this month, I will FINALLY promote to Supervisor and get to choose a name for our little team. Yay!
Well, that’s it for now. Since I haven’t done anything remotely crafty in the last 5 months, I don’t have anything exciting to show you, but that should change soon.
Cheers
Jo
