A few weeks ago my demo friends at GailForceStampers threw down a challenge to help us find our missing mojo. The challenge was to use the colours from the Kaleidoscope Papers - Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Summer Sun, Only Orang, Pink Passion and Pixie Pink - just slightly bright colours. Thank goodness we were allowed white (and only white) as our neutral. I actually made 4, here are my favourites:
This card is 20 cm x 10 cm nope, it is 8.5 " x 10 cm (finished size) (I think - I do know that it does fit into a DL envelope though). Man I like to make things difficult by using metric & imperial measurements, lol! ( Not really, I used PaperTrey's Stampers Select which is 8.5 x 11"). I used Butterfly Prints and the coordinating punch, both from the Summer Mini catalogue. I didn't have orange or yellow bling so I coloured some clear ones with my Copic markers. I'm pretty sure the sentiment is from Trendy Trees but it is stamped in Basic Grey, which was not part of the challenge.
This one is 5 x 5" (I think) and uses the actual Kaleidoscope papers. I had cut these papers for a different project (that didn't work) & thought a patchwork would. I think it did. The frame is from PaperTrey's Borders & Corners Monogram and the sentiment is from PaperTrey's Mega Mixed Messages. It was punched using the 1-3/8" SQ punch and I then rounded the corners to coordinate with the frame. This came togther so quickly that I made another 6, all with different frames & sentiments. Again I've used Basic Grey - so again I fail to meet the challenge requirements.
Well, that's all for tonight, I have been busy creating, and have even taken photos. Just have to get around to posting them here. Tomorrow night I have to clean up the 'studio' - it is a disgusting mess.
Thanks for taking the time to visit and I hope you have a great day/night wherever you may be.
Ciao

PaperTrey Emboss Resist Challenge
This is my entry. I think I'm extremely close to the cut off time so I'm going to post and run and come back and post details in a minute.
The challenge for Day 5 of the PaperTrey 3rd Birthday Celebrations was an Emboss Resist. Since this challenge fell over a weekend, I was able to participate. I thought I was running low on time but it looks like I actually had a couple of hours to spare :) That 's what happens when I try and work out time differences in my head, lol.
My inspiration for this card came from this photo I took from our balcony of a sunset a few months ago. Ever since I took it, I thought it would great for an emboss resist technique. I love how the stamped image turned out, but I'm not sold on the rest of the card, and may even pull it to bits after this. (It kept me awake last night thinking of other things I could try to 'fix it up').
Supplies Used: All Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Life - PaperTrey Ink, Happy, Happy Birthday
Cardstock: Glossy White, Basic Black
Ink: Pacific Point, Ballet Blue, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Riding Hood Red, Versamark
Accessories: Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sponges, Black Satin Ribbon - PaperTrey Ink
Hope you like it and thanks for looking.
Till next time...
